Yesterday, the project team around Wolfram Jantsch, Rudi Schneeberger and Christoph Praschl took off with over 20 drone flights to southeastern Styria (into the dreamy autumnal surroundings of Riegersburg)!

Our goal? To collect extensive data to evaluate our light field-based AI system in order to compare it with the most modern object detectors and classic camera trap approaches in the context of wildlife monitoring in forests. For this comparison, camera traps have been hanging in the areas flown over for months, which provide us with a perfect basis for the evaluation.
