In February, as part of our research project, we carried out drone flights in a forest area in Salzburg equipped with camera traps. To provide a seasonal comparison, we returned this Tuesday in bright sunshine and temperatures of up to 35°C in the shade. On this occasion we completed a further 18 flights over a distance of around 70 km, with altitudes of over 1600 metres above sea level in places. It was a successful day and now we are concentrating on analysing the collected data and searching for wildlife with our developed tools and ALFS (airborne light-field sampling).
