The Long Night of Research (Lange Nacht der Forschung) takes place every two years in Austria. You can experience science and research up close with free admission in all nine federal states. The next event will take place on 24 May 2024 from 17:00 to 23:00. This year, we will be presenting our BAMBI research project live on site at Softwarepark Hagenberg as part of this event. We are looking forward to all visitors and interesting questions/discussions about wildlife monitoring in forests with the help of drones and artificial intelligence.
Of course, we will also be on site with some drones 😉 .
P.S. The attached teaser image was taken during one of our monitoring flights in Salzburg in February 2024. During this flight, our focus was primarily on tracking red deer and roe deer to compare our approach to classic camera trap-based methods – with some really exciting results, but more on that later 😉.
